 This is the personal journal of ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) madannekidd a.k.a. Aida/Calex. Within here lies her thoughts, rambling about various issues, rabid fangirlism, sarcasm and bitchiness, a hint of emo/angst and other things that might go through her head. If you're looking for her writing, it will no longer be found here (although the old stuff remains). If, for whatever reason you feel like reading whatever tripe that consists of her posts, then feel free to leave a comment. |
Aida is currently 19 (though she turns 20 in four months), and towards the end of her GAP year (a year out after A-Levels and before University). She had studied in England for 5 years from Year 9 to Year 13, and is deathly afraid of studying numbers and science. As you might have guessed, her A-Level subjects were all within the area of the humanities. She did History of Art, Religious Studies and English Literature for said A-Levels and had planned to continue on to University studying History of Art and Archaeology. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Calex is now back in Malaysia (her home country) doing an American Degree Transfer Program for two years, with a further two years in the States. She doesn’t know what she will major in, yet, but she figures it’s probably going to be Art History after all. Failing that, she’s sure she’ll think of something in the near future.
Aida is the youngest of five children (and when she says youngest, she means by a LOT), with far too many aunts, uncles and therefore cousins for her to count. She loves cats and currently has two (although one is scared of humans due to trauma and hardly ever shows his face) but at one point owned as many as forty. No, she isn’t kidding. Yes, it really was that crazy. No, she doesn’t know why, they just bred on their own. No, she can’t give you any because her mother has already sold them all off barring for the aforementioned two. She likes reading manga (yaoi or otherwise), watching anime, playing RPG games and Guitar Hero on her brother’s PS2, writing, listening to music, watching obscure foreign movies, taking photographs but hates being in them, playing around on Photoshop, trying out restaurants and a variety of different foods, jewellery (she buys far too many and wears far too much at a time), make up, watching football in pubs, going to gigs, parties, concerts and raves with friends, and whiskey and cokes. Among other things.
Aida likes collecting things. Her room is a mess of knickknacks bought from various countries that she has visited with her family and she likes buying cheap local art with bright colours and striking shapes. She also collects cigarette cases and zippo lighters and would one day like to buy a pocket watch, a cane, a top hat and a hip flask. Oh yeah, and a monocle. She owns fedoras, used to own several corsets but they have disappeared into thin air and has a strange fetish for glasses and jackets. The number of which she owns is staggering.
Aida/Calex is white roses, old parchment, quills and emerald ink, water marked diaries and unconventional means of the popular, Nokia phones and Nikon cameras, cigarettes and black tea and ink stained fingers. Wicked cackles and Slytherin smirks. |
31/01/2008 - ... have sort of neglected this journal due to being slightly obsessed with a new... Okay, it's not a fandom. I'm currently involved (both reading and writing) original slash. And mostly, original fantasy slash. This newfound interest is made more apparent if you visit my writing journal (_calex_) wherein the proof of my obsession lies. Currently, I am caught up in the Oblique Reference Project, which was co-created by both myself and ivorytowers. What it is, is basically a shared Universe thought up by the two of us, which is split into two (the Human Realm and the Shadow Realm) wherein lives fantastical creatures which we can write about. Any of the authors are also welcome to add more creatures if they so wish to our creatures list. The Project currently has four authors, it's own website, the LJ community and a forum which anyone is welcome to join or just watch. We are also welcoming new authors, but please read the following before doing so.
